Fremont enjoyed some time in the spotlight at the 2nd Annual East Bay Innovation Awards. After our recent teaser, we are pleased to finally announce the winners and share event highlights.

The Fox Theater in Oakland was packed with 400 attendees from private and public sectors to celebrate creativity, innovation, and job creation in the East Bay. All award winners received a special 3-D printed, illuminating Innovation Award Trophy created byFATHOM.

First up – Boehringer Ingelheim wins in the Advanced Manufacturing Category for the R&D and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals at its facilities in Fremont.

Second up – Soraa, an LED lighting company headquartered in Fremont, receives an award in the Clean Technology Category.

Ohlone College’s Northern California Biotechnology Program was a finalist in the education category. While Ohlone College didn’t walk away with a trophy, we are sure that many of its students will be future award winners.
