The U.S. is home to so many great cities starting with our sister city to the north, San Francisco. While these names tend to get the headlines – I say “tend” because Fremont periodically gains the attention of journalists  — smaller cities like Fremont in Silicon Valley have their own success stories.

That’s why we were enthused to hear about a magazine leading the charge in recognizing deserving cities that aren’t household names:

A bevy of measures and indicators have arisen over the past half-decade to measure more than a regions’ industry and output or its population and budget. The Social Progress Index, Genuine Progress Index, and Well Being Strategy are good examples of the trend at at both the national and regional level. But we want to make our own: the GOOD City Index.

If you haven’t heard of GOOD, it’s an online media property lands that accentuates the positive.

Naturally, we think its recent initiative is right up our alley … and streets and bike paths for that matter.

With this in mind, we encourage to take a few minutes and share your thoughts on what makes Fremont a special place. It might be a certain vibe or perhaps a special place within Fremont. Maybe you view the recent opening of Whole Foods as one of those trajectory-changing moments. Quick side note- that waffle station at Whole Foods is tough to beat.

Regardless, share your Fremont story.
