On September 16, Startup Grind will kick off its new chapter in Fremont at DeVry University with Manish Chandra, CEO of Poshmark. If you haven’t heard, Startup Grind is an international business startup community that has chapters in over 170 cities and 65 countries, with a mission of connecting, educating, and inspiring entrepreneurs. Startup Grind also hosts monthly fireside chats during which a featured speaker will share his or her personal stories of their journeys to success. As entrepreneurs and business minds gather to network and connect, they will also be hearing from one of the most successful business leaders in the Bay Area.

Manish Chandra, CEO of Poshmark, an online shopping company, was exposed to business from an early age by hanging around his grandfather’s pharmacy as a child. Behind the scenes, he observed retail operations and learned how the process worked. After obtaining a Master’s degree in computer science from University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from UC Berkeley, Manish worked at several companies, gaining valuable work experience before starting his own company. In 2005, he founded Kaboodle out of his garage, a social online shopping company that he sold to the Hearst Corporation for $30 million in 2007. Using concepts and knowledge acquired from running Kaboodle, Manish founded Poshmark six years later in2011, one of the largest online marketplaces for lightly-used accessories and clothing.
